Shirley Ann Bruckner came to Iowa State College from Chicago, Illinois in fall quarter 1950. She majored in foods and nutrition in the College of Home Economics, graduating spring 1954. Prior to graduation, she married William Omar Reece, a vetrinary student, who also graduated spring 1954. The Iowa State experience indeed assisted her to live a life. She has been a devoted wife and a partner to her husband's career in


academic veterinary medicine and a model of excellence as a mother to their six daughters and one son. She provides enthusiastic leadership and service to church and many other community activities. The food and nutrition major has served Shirley well. 1999
