Kay Seitz King

Brick Section A - Row 23

Kay King was an extraordinary woman who graduated from Iowa State and married Phil King, also an Iowa State grad. Her son, Don King, then graduated with a Ph.D. from Iowa State in 1991.
The remarkable thing about Kay is that after marriage and having a son, she contracted polio when her first son was only a year and a half. To my knowledge she was in an iron lung for awhile and then rehabilitated to walking (steel crutches). She and her husband wanted another child so they adopted Don.
I was fortunate to met Kay and was constantly amazed at her intellect, whit, compassion and zest for life. I can think of no better way to acknowledge Kay than to purchase a brick in her honor. April, 2000
