Linda Ann Miller Carver

Brick Section K - Row 7

William J. Bennett in "The Book of Virtues" describes qualities worth instilling in others as: self-discipline, compassion, responsibility, friendship, work, courage, perseverance, honesty, loyalty, and faith. Because Linda exemplifies these qualities in her life, she has earned the respect of all who have come in contact with her. She has earned a Q for Quality.

Linda was born and grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa and started her teaching career in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Next she taught in Iowa City, Iowa. After marrying Alan Carver, Linda's teaching career expanded to Kingsville, Texas and Fairmont, Minnesota. After residing in Lincoln, Nebraska and Mt. Prospect, Illinois, the Carvers settled in Ames to raise their two children, Ryan and Natalie. Linda received a Master's degree from Iowa State University. Subsequently, she returned to teaching and taught 6th and 5th grade at Roosevelt School for 16 years.

Linda is a teacher, mentor, volunteer, and friend. Her influence reaches beyond the Ames School System with her volunteerism in community organizations. She has brought out the best in students, parents, colleagues, and friends. Linda is a caring individual, respected and admired and most deserving of this recognition.
