2/3/1894-11/9/1960 Idamay Slater Kacena Idamay taught math at Des Moines City College when very few women even went to college. After she married William Joseph Kacena Sr., she home schooled her 2 boys when they were up at the homestead in Canada. She camped and fished and had a great garden. This valiant lady, my grandmother, lived life fully and was an inspiration to me spiritually and academically. 6/94
