Seven young women founded P.E.O. on January 21, 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Chapter MI was organized December 5, 1970 in Ames, Iowa. The international sisterhood is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing increased opportunities for education to women. 8/30/94
