| Irene Neppl was born in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Blanche Kirchner Hyer. Following her high school graduation, she married Melvin Neppl and they farmed near Estherville for 32 years. They are the parents of seven sons Larry (ISU '66), Robert, James (ISU '69), Richard, Patrick, Scott and Mark. Her work ethic as a farm woman and church and community leader involved her in many community activities, including 4-H and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. 10/22/94 |
