PhD in Nutrition and Physiology - 1929 - Iowa State (College) University

Before coming to Iowa State University, Mrs. Peet taught at William Woods College,
Fulton, Missouri, and the American College for Women, Constantinople (Istanbul), Turkey.

For twenty-two years, Mrs. Peet was professor and head of the Household Equipment Department at Iowa State (College) University.

While at Iowa State University and after retirement, Mrs. Peet was a visiting professor at the:

Although officially retired in 1953, Mrs. Peet was still teaching a Household Equipment course in the department of Family Environment at Iowa State University at the age of eighty-eight. She was professor emeritus of Family Environment at Iowa State University.

PUBLICATIONS

High School Textbook - YOUNG
HOMEMAKERS' EQUIPMENT GUIDE SCIENCE FUNDAMENTALS - A Background for Household Equipment. At the age of ninety-two Mrs. Peet again revised a college textbook, (8th edition) HOUSEHOLD EQUIPMENT which she had co-written in the 1930's. It was one of the first textbooks on the topic.

Louise Peet's supreme dedication to humanity and to her profession as well as her preeminence as an author and administrator were recognized through the years by the Iowa State Alumni Association. She received a Faculty Citation in 1956 and an Alumni Merit Award
in 1970.

A Phi Beta Kappa scholar, Mrs. Peet was a member of a number of honoraries including Omicron Nu and Mortar Board. She was also a member of Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Delta Epsilon and Iota Sigma Pi. She was listed in Who's Who of American Women.

For many years Mrs. Peet was active in the Congregational Church, Ames Readers' Club and Playmakers. She was a world traveler.
