Ms. Ellis is the Vice President, Pharmacy Programs, IASD Health Services Corp., (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa and Blue Cross of South Dakota). and is responsible for corporate administration of pharmacy and pharmacy related services, programs, and networks. Ms. Ellis was IASD's Vice President for External and Government Relations from 1991-1994.
She previously served as Director of Public Health for the State of Iowa from 1986 to 1990 where she administered statewide government programs of the Iowa
Department of Public Health. She served from 1983 to 1986 as the Director of the Iowa Department of Substance Abuse.
She is Chairperson of the National Commission for Accreditation of Ambulance Services. She also serves on the Iowa Telemedicine Advisory Council, the Iowa Public Health Association Executive Board, the Alumni Board of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, the Children and Families of Iowa Foundation Board of Trustees, the Des Moines Infant Mortality Task Force. She is a past chair of the Iowa Health Data
Commission, board member of the Health Policy Corporation of Iowa, Vice President of the Iowa Board of Health, and has held numerous federal and state appointments to health-related committees. She has a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Iowa, and a master's degree in public administration and predoctoral work in sociology from Iowa State University. 1/95 |
