GRADUATION
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will hold its Fall 2007 graduation ceremony Friday, December 14, at 8 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. This cap and gown ceremony will include the individual recognition of every LAS graduate in attendance.

LITERARY BENEFIT
Flyway, the literary journal in the Department of English, is changing its focus to an environmental-themed publication and as a result is holding a benefit auction. The auction will include a concert Friday, November 9, from 7-10 p.m. in the Maintenance Shop of the Memorial Union. The groups BeJae Fleming and The Bone People will perform with gift certificates and items donated by local Ames businesses.

TOURING DOWN UNDER
The LAS Office of Career Services is accepting student enrollment for a study tour of Australia and New Zealand. The spring semester course includes a final exam of an 18-day trip visiting U.S. international employers in the fields of manufacturing, high-tech, business, government, law, the arts, teaching and non-profit organizations.

SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT
Uhuru Magazine, Iowa State's multicultural magazine, is seeking multicultural events taking place November 30, 2007 through May 8, 2008, on campus or within Ames and Des Moines for inclusion in the publication. Send submissions to uhurueditor@iastate.edu .
FRONTIERS OF THE DISCIPLINE
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will once again offer first-year students an opportunity to enroll in a "Frontiers of the Discipline" (LAS 103X) seminar during the 2008 spring semester. These seminars focus entirely on the research activities of faculty members and include "Humor and Russian Culture," "Stem Cell Research: Biology, Ethics and Politics," "Religious Games and Toys in the Classroom," "Music from Virtual Reality," "Language Learning with Podcasts," and "Is Jon Stewart Right? Are There no 'Honest Debates'?"

STUDY ABROAD
A listing of the available College of Liberal Arts and Sciences study abroad programs is on-line – listed by countries and semesters the programs are offered. LAS offers study abroad scholarships to help students defray costs of international travel in conjunction with their programs of study. The deadline for the spring 2008 programs (including spring break) is November 1.

ARTS
ISU Theatre will present a Sesquicentennial event, "Quilters," a musical about pioneer women and life on the prairie. The production will be held November 9-11 in Fisher Theater and will be repeated in early December.
