Alumni societies chartered
Three Special Interest Societies with affiliations with the College
of Liberal Arts and Sciences have been chartered by the ISU Alumni Association.
Alumni who participated in specific activities while attending Iowa State
can form a Special Interest Society in an effort to stay connected to
the university and with other alumni who share the same interests and
experiences.
The three established Special Interest Societies in LAS include:
- The Society of the Alumni Band - organized and operated
for the benefit and enjoyment of its members of the ISU Band Program.
Members annually meet and perform at Homecoming.
- The Society of Greenlee School of Alumni and Friends
- the organization has created a network of chapters across the country
whose members will help the Greenlee School acquire internships, provide
mentoring opportunities, participate in event-planning and share professional
expertise, research and engagement opportunities with students and fellow
alumni.
- The Society of the Iowa State Daily Alumni and Friends
- promotes the publication of a high-quality student-run newspaper for
Iowa State, serves as a professional development resource and networking
opportunity for current and former Daily employees, and provides
opportunities for alumni to renew and maintain social, personal and
professional relationships with each other.
