  • Changes in LAS development office

Two new individuals have joined the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) development team in recent weeks.

Michael Gens came onboard over the summer as director of development. He comes to LAS from Central College in Pella where he was a director of development.

Prior to that, Gens worked at the ISU Foundation in the Research and Records Department and later as a development officer in the College of Business.

"Michael is a very good development officer with a winning track record at both Central and Iowa State," said Michael Whiteford, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. "He is familiar with the dynamics of the University and the Foundation so his start up time is going to be fast."

Stephanie Greiner is the latest addition to the staff, officially moving from the ISU Foundation's central office to LAS this past week. She has been with the ISU Foundation for the past three years.

Greiner replaces Melissa Johansen, LAS director of development, who has resigned effective Sept. 8, to take a position with the Iowa State Center.

"Stephanie brings experience as a fundraiser, a working knowledge of Iowa State and the ISU Foundation, and a great deal of energy to this position," Whiteford
    said.

Alsatia Mellecker is the LAS senior director of development, while Erin Steinkamp is the office's program assistant.

Dave Gieseke works closely with the LAS development team as the College's alumni officer.
