Carillon alumni society founded
A Special Interest Society with an affiliation with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has been chartered by the ISU Alumni Association.
Alumni who participated in specific activities while attending Iowa State
can form a Special Interest Society in an effort to stay connected to
the university and with other alumni who share the same interests and
experiences.
The Carillon Alumni and Friends was chartered at the February meeting of the ISU Alumni Association Board of Directors. The purpose of The Society of ISU Carillon Alumni and Friends is to bring together people who are passionate about carillon music and its tradition at Iowa State. The Society's goals are to provide network building among carillon students, alumni and friends; help increase awareness of carillon lessons available on campus to current students; and ensure the Campanile and carillon remain prominent and functioning icons of Iowa State.
An inaugural event is planned for June 21, 2008.
Previously three other Special Interest Societies with connections to LAS have been established including The Society of the Alumni Band, The Society of Greenlee School of Alumni and Friends and The Society of the Iowa State Daily Alumni and Friends.
