ISU Wind Ensemble “Concert on the Green”
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 50th Anniversary Concert

An August outdoor concert on the Iowa State University campus and a student contest are planned as part of ISU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ 50th anniversary celebration in 2009.

The ISU Wind Ensemble will perform on Central Campus south of the Campanile on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. during the first week of fall classes. The Wind Ensemble, directed by Michael Golemo, professor and chair of music, is the top concert band at Iowa State.

Billed as the “Concert on the Green,” the free performance will feature a wide variety of music. Jonathan Sturm, concertmaster of the Des Moines Symphony and an associate professor of music at ISU, will be the guest violin soloist.
