Council on International Programs awards LAS faculty grants
Iowa State University's Council on International Programs (CIP) has provided several faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences international grants for the 2008-2009 academic year.
The grants fund individual and group projects led by faculty and staff to enhance the infusion of international perspectives into the learning, discovery and/or engagement activities of Iowa State.
Individuals in LAS who have received CIP grants include:
- Craig Anderson, psychology, "Video Game Effects on Children and Adolescents"
- Susan Cross, psychology, "Construction of Honor in the U.S. and Turkey"
- Hsain Ilahiane, anthropology, "Giving Global Public Health the Attention it Deserves in the Classroom and in Service Learning at Iowa State"
- Dennis Lavrov, ecology, evolution and organismal biology, "Expanding Connections and Collaboration between Iowa State and the Irkutsk Limnology Institute (Russia) in the Study of Lake Baikal
- Elisa Rizo, world languages and cultures, "Development of a Study Abroad Course on Latin American Studies with a Focus on Agriculture"
- Steve Rodermel, genetics, development and cell biology, "Development of a Biology Course for the ISU on the Mediterranean Program (summer in Valencia)"
- Stacey Weber-Feve, world languages and cultures, "Strengthening French Language and Cultures for Professions"
- Yan Zhao, chemistry, "Establishing a Collaborative Research Project with Chemists at Peking University in China on Conjugated-molecule Assemblies"
