September 25, 2008Elections focus of Iowa State University political science panelTwo prominent political scientists will analyze the upcoming presidential and congressional elections during a panel discussion at Iowa State University Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. The event, which is sponsored by Iowa State's Department of Political Science and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will feature a dialogue with James Campbell and James Lindsay. It is free and open to the public. Campbell is a professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Buffalo. He served previously as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow and as a program director at the National Science Foundation. He is the author of The Presidential Pulse of Congressional Elections, Cheap Seats and The American Campaign. He is also the coeditor of Before the Vote. Lindsay is the Tom Slick Chair for International Affairs and director of the Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin. A leading authority on the American foreign policymaking process and the domestic politics of American foreign policy, Lindsay was previously the vice president, director of students and the Maurice R. Greenberg Chair at the Council on Foreign Relations. |
