Department plans foreign language faculty seminar series

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures is sponsoring a faculty seminar series the remainder of the spring semester at Iowa State University.

"Effective Use of Technology in the Foreign Language Classroom" is a series of four different seminars. For more information contact the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at 294-4046.

The faculty seminar series includes:

  • Thursday, March 27 - "Transforming Language Learning Through Technology: Practical Perspectives on Why, What, When, Where, Who and How," Sue E.K. Otto, director, Language Media Center, University of Iowa, 303 Pearson Hall, 3:40 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 2 - "Professional Issues in Using Technology for Foreign Language Teaching," Volker Hegelheimer and Carol Chapelle, TESL/Department of English, 315 Pearson Hall, 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 15 - "Enhancing Foreign Language Learning Experiences Through Instructional Technologies," Betul Ozkan, Center of Technology in Learning and Teaching, 315 Pearson Hall, 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 29 - "Teaching with Technology: Show and Tell," Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures faculty, 303 Pearson Hall, 3:40 p.m.
