April 4, 2008Amateur paleontologists discuss discovery at VEISHEATwo amateur paleontologists will relate their adventure in discovering a new species of dinosaur during a special presentation at Iowa State University during VEISHEA. Brothers Pat and Steve Saulsbury of Sioux City will speak Saturday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. in 1210 LeBaron. Their lecture, "Discovering a Dinosaur," is sponsored by the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences at Iowa State and is open to the public. The skull was subsequently donated to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. An image of the new dinosaur appeared on the cover of the December 2007 issue of National Geographic. Pat Saulsbury is a two-time graduate of Iowa State. He holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. |
