Concerts highlight ISU Honor Choir Festival
Two concerts will highlight the 2008 Iowa State University Honor Choir Festival in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall Sunday and Monday, Feb. 10-11.
The high school Honor Choir members are selected through live auditions held throughout the state earlier in the year. The ISU Honor choir is open to all students, grades 10-12.
The auditions were conducted by James Rodde, director of choral activities at Iowa State and director of the ISU Honor Choir Festival. Rodde also serves as the director of the ISU Honor Choir.
Sunday's (Feb. 10) concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall and will feature performances by the Iowa State choral ensembles including the Iowa State Singers, the Statesmen, Lyrica and Cantamus. The Statesmen are a men's choral group while Lyrica and Cantamus are women's ensembles.
On Monday at 7 p.m. in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall, the Iowa State Honor Choir will present its concert.
Both performances are free and open to the public.
