Trude Elliott winner of Ink Public Service Award

Trude Elliott, recently retired as Linn County employment relations director,
has been named the 2006 Dwight Ink Public Service Award Winner at Iowa
State University.
Iowa State's Public Policy and Administration Program presented Elliott
the award recently.
For over 30 years Elliott was an employee of Linn County, including the
last 25 years as the county's employment relations director. In that position,
she oversaw Linn County's employment practices, including the administration
of classification and compensation, labor relations and collective bargaining,
as well as job recruiting and affirmative action guidelines.
Elliott also oversaw the county's administration of employment benefits
and the administration of employment development programs.
In 2005, Elliott was the recipient of the National Public Employer Labor
Relations Association's (NPELRA) Award of Excellence. She was honored
for her work with the NPELRA Academy Committee chair.
The Dwight Ink Public Service Award honors Dwight Ink, an Iowa State alumnus
who served every U.S. president from Eisenhower through Reagan. Throughout
his public service, Ink had responsibilities for organizing past federal
departments and agencies.
The award is given to a public manager in Iowa who exemplifies the highest
standards of dedication to public service and are characterized by their
leadership abilities, their passion for their work, their high professional
standards and the respect they are given by their peers.
