ISU Theatre announces spring performance schedule.

  • A Shakespeare classic, a roller coaster ride and the Stars Over Veishea (SOV) presentation will form the spring 2003 season for ISU Theatre at Iowa State University.

Tickets for "Romeo and Juliet," "Fuddy Meers" and "I Never Sang For My Father" are $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5.50 for students and children for each performance, which will all be held in the Fisher Theater.

The SOV production of "Brigadoon" will be held in Stephens Auditorium. Tickets are $10 to $15 for adults and $6 to $10 for students.

All ISU Theatre tickets are available at the Iowa State Center Ticket office at 515-294-3347.

The 2003 spring ISU Theatre season includes:

    • Romeo & Juliet - William Shakespeare’s play about a young boy and girl in love, but torn apart by the disapproval of their families is the world’s best-known love story asking the question, "What will you give for love?" Feb. 28, March 1,7 & 8, 7:30 p.m., March 2 & 9, 2 p.m.

    • Fuddy Meers - Take a wild ride with Claire, a "memory-challenged" woman, and her alleged family. Kidnapped by one husband and pursued by another, Claire seeks the truth. There's the all-too-good-to-be-true husband, a mysterious, limping stranger, the pot-smoking teenage son, a tough lady cop, the ventriloquist with a trash-talking dummy, and Claire's mother, a stroke victim who can only speak gibberish. "Fuddy Meers" is a roller coaster ride through the day of an amnesiac trying to decipher her fractured life, while being surrounded by alarmingly bizarre characters. March 27-29, 7:30 p.m., March 30, 2 p.m.

    • Brigadoon - Two American tourists, Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, stumble upon a misty little Scottish town. Tommy soon falls in love with a local lass, Fiona McLaren, but as the two men quickly discover, this mysterious little town only reawakens for one day every 100 years. This SOV production is co-produced with the Department of Music, ISU Dance and the Veishea committee. April 11-12, 7:30 p.m., April 13, 2 p.m.

    • I Never Sang For My Father - Patrick Gouran plays the title role as the aging father who never accepted his son. This play about the son who struggles with what to do with his father will celebrate Gouran's contributions to ISU Theatre on the occasion of his retirement. April 24-26, 7:30 p.m., April 27, 2 p.m.
