While the Iowa State University student meteorology group was at the
national American Meteorological Society (AMS) conference to pick up their
award for AMS Student Chapter of the Year for 2006-07, the organization

of their activities including science night at local elementary schools
as well as social and athletic events.
"Each chapter in the country is encouraged to attend the annual
meeting and present a poster depicting their chapter," said William
Gallus, professor of geological and atmospheric sciences.
