STUDENT AMBASSADORS
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is accepting applications for its 2008 LAS Student Ambassador Program, an opportunity for current LAS students to get involved, help prospective students learn about Iowa State and assist in a variety of student events within the college.
Applications are due Thursday, February 14, and short interviews will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, February 19 & 20. Additional information can be obtained from Ann Hawkins, recruiting coordinator, at anniehwk@iastate.edu.

GUARANTEED 4.0
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Multicultural Student Services will be offering "Guaranteed 4.0," a workshop proven to be a successful strategy for college coursework. The dynamic two-hour workshop will cover stress management, time management, and a set of tools and strategies for staying on top of your classes, homework and exams. You'll get hands-on practice using some of the different skills and leave equipped to earn your 4.0.
Students can attend one of two remaining sessions at the beginning of the semester (Tuesday and Wednesday, January 29-30) and three after spring break (March 26, April 1 and April 2). The sessions will be held in 135 Mackay from 6:30-8:30 p.m. RSVP to zford@iastate.edu.
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
The application deadline for scholarships in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the 2008 fall semester is February 15, 2008. Details on how to apply for the scholarships as well as criteria and descriptions of the scholarships are available on-line.

LECTURES
A pair of lectures featuring alumni from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will be held this week in the Memorial Union. Trudy Huskamp Peterson, former archivist of the United States, will speak on Monday, January 28, at 8 p.m. in the Sun Room. Peterson will speak on her experiences working with archives in several countries.
Then a day later, Elizabeth Andre will speak at 7 p.m. in The Gallery about her journey through the Arctic to highlight global warming.

LEARNING TO EAT - BUSINESS STYLE
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Career Services Office will hold an "Etiquette Dinner" Tuesday, February 12, in the Scheman Building from 4-5:30 p.m. You will learn valuable skills such as table manners, place settings and dinners dos and don'ts as you prepare for your entry into the work place. The dinner is open to LAS majors only and a response is required by February 5 to lascs@iastate.edu.

TEACH FOR AMERICA
An information session will be held Wednesday, January 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Room of the Memorial Union for Teach For America, a national corps of top performing recent college graduates and working professionals who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools.
Hear from Anna Lutey, a 2005 Los Angeles member of Teach America, about her experiences and the application process. All majors are welcome and free pizza will be provided.

ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP
Applications for 2009-10 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships are now available on the Rotary International web site. Information meetings will be held on campus Thursday, February 14 (11 a.m. in 3505 Memorial Union), and Friday, February 15 (noon in 255 Memorial Union).
The scholarships, which are designed to further international understanding and goodwill, provide for study abroad in more than 150 countries where Rotary clubs are located.

IOWA STATE TEAM LEADER
New Student Programs is looking for students that would like to share their excitement for Iowa State. Team Leaders are responsible for attending Destination Iowa State August 21-23, 2008, and helping new students adjust to campus. A $200 stipend will be paid. Applications are due February 1 and interviews will take place February 25-27.
