    CAREER WEEK
    You can prepare for the LAS Career Fair with a series of workshops and panel discussions February 11-19. "Choose Your Career Destination" will include workshops on interviewing secrets, resume writing and making connections at the Career Fair. Panel discussions will be held for students wishing careers in government, public service, computer gaming and the legal profession.

    STUDENT AMBASSADORS
    The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is accepting applications for its 2008 LAS Student Ambassador Program, an opportunity for current LAS students to get involved, help prospective students learn about Iowa State and assist in a variety of student events within the college.

    Applications are due Thursday, February 14, and short interviews will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, February 19 & 20. Additional information can be obtained from Ann Hawkins, recruiting coordinator, at anniehwk@iastate.edu.

    WANTED: UNDERGRAD RESEARCH PRESENTERS
    The University Honors Program seeks students (Honors or non-Honors) involved in faculty-mentored research to present their results at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium April 15 (8 a.m.-5 p.m., MU). Abstract submissions are due February 14. Also, abstract submissions for a poster event at the Iowa State Capitol on March 10 still are being accepted. Contact

    COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
    The application deadline for scholarships in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the 2008 fall semester is February 15, 2008. Details on how to apply for the scholarships as well as criteria and descriptions of the scholarships are available on-line.

    POSTER COMPETITION
    The Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities (CEAH) has announced a new student poster design competition. There is a $300 award and the deadline is March 24.

    The winning poster design will advertise the 2008-09 CEAH annual programming series "Sustaining the Earth" in print media locally, statewide and nationally, and on the Center's web site.

    ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP
    Applications for 2009-10 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships are now available on the Rotary International web site. Information meetings will be held on campus Thursday, February 14 (11 a.m. in 3505 Memorial Union), and Friday, February 15 (noon in 255 Memorial Union).

    The scholarships, which are designed to further international understanding and goodwill, provide for study abroad in more than 150 countries where Rotary clubs are located.

    ARTS
    Ames Piano Quartet's George Work will perform with the ISU Symphony Orchestra during a special concert Friday, February 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall in the Music Hall. Admission is free.
