GRADUATION
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will host its May 2008 Graduation ceremony in Hilton Coliseum Friday, May 9, at 8 p.m. Students planning to participate in a ceremony should fill out a Student Attendance Card available on-line at www.las.iastate.edu/students/graduation/instructions.shtml and return it to Dave Gieseke, dgieseke@iastate.edu.
WASHINGTON INTERNS
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an independent nonprofit organization providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C., for academic credit. The deadline for the 2008 summer program is March 1 and fall 2008 applications are due June 13. Contact Steve Kravinsky in LAS Career Services at srkravi@iastate.edu for more information.

POSTER COMPETITION
The Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities (CEAH) has announced a new student poster design competition. There is a $300 award and the deadline is March 24.
The winning poster design will advertise the 2008-09 CEAH annual programming series "Sustaining the Earth" in print media locally, statewide and nationally, and on the Center's web site.

LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES ESSAY PRIZE
The Latin American Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is accepting submissions for its annual undergraduate essay contest. The essay topic can involve any aspect of contemporary or historical Latin America from any disciplinary or interdisciplinary approach within the humanities and social sciences. The prize for the best essay is $100 and submissions should be made by April 1, 2008.

ARTS
ISU Theatre will present the premiere of a new Jane Cox play this month. "Love and Honor," a story of Iowans in the Civil War, will be performed February 29, March 1, 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 and 9, in Fisher Theater.
