    SMITH LECTURE
    Madeleine Kunin, the first and only woman to serve as governor of Vermont and former ambassador to Switzerland, will visit Iowa State University on Thursday, April 24, as the Spring 2008 Mary Louise Smith Chair in Women and Politics. She will discuss her new book, Pearls, Politics and Power: How Women Can Win and Lead in a presentation at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

    GRADUATION
    The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will host its May 2008 Graduation ceremony in Hilton Coliseum Friday, May 9, at 8 p.m. A reception for graduates and their guests will be held immediately afterwards. Students planning to participate in a ceremony should fill out a Student Attendance Card available on-line at www.las.iastate.edu/students/graduation/instructions.shtml and return it to Dave Gieseke, dgieseke@iastate.edu.

    ARTS
    A massed choir of Iowa State vocalists will present the annual Masterworks Concert Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Stephens Auditorium. This year's concert will feature a performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem," a 40-minute cantata for choir, orchestra, and soprano and baritone soloists.
