GRADUATION
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will hold its Fall 2007 graduation ceremony Friday, December 14, at 8 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. This cap and gown ceremony will include the individual recognition of every LAS graduate in attendance. Students planning to participate must submit a “Graduation Card” to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. FEDEX
Frederick W. Smith, founder, president and CEO of FedEx, will give the sixth annual Manatt-Phelps Lecture in Political Science Tuesday, December 4, at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Union’s Sun Room. Smith will speak on “Trends and Issues in the World Marketplace.”

STEREOTYPICAL EFFECTS
National Academy of Sciences member Claude Steele will deliver a lecture Thursday, November 29, at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.
Steele will speak on "How Stereotypes Affect Intellectual Performance." A reception will be held prior to the lecture by the internationally renowned psychologist. The event is sponsored by Iowa State's Department of Psychology.

ROTC RANKING
The Cyclone ROTC Battalion is the nation’s third highest in cadet average ranking based on cadet grades, physical fitness evaluations and performance at the Leadership Development and Assessment Course. There are 273 battalions in the United States.

ISU Theatre’s Sesquicentennial production of the musical “Quilters” will be performed November 30, December 1-2 in Fisher Theater. The all-female cast looks at a pioneer clan on the American plains in the 1800s.

Iowa State student vocalists will take center stage Thursday, November 29, when the ISU Opera Studio will present its “Showcase Concert” at 7:30 p.m. in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall. Students will be performing arias from some of the greatest operas written.
