    GRADUATION
    The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will hold its Fall 2007 graduation ceremony Friday, December 14, at 8 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. This cap and gown ceremony will include the individual recognition of every LAS graduate in attendance. Students planning to participate must submit a “Graduation Card” to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.     COLLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
    The application deadline for scholarships in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the 2008 fall semester is February 15, 2008. Details on how to apply for the scholarships as well as criteria and descriptions of the scholarships are available on-line.

    THE YEAR IN WEATHER
    The Iowa State student chapter of the American Meteorological Society is selling its 2008 weather calendar. The calendar features photos by meteorology majors and faculty members and costs $12 ($14 if shipped).

    CAUCUS SURVEY
    In spite of the fact that college students will be on semester break during the unprecedented early Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, a survey this month by an Iowa State University sociology class found that among 2,185 ISU students, 73 percent were already registered to vote, and 58 percent of those registered students intended to participate in the caucuses.

    INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
    The Institute of International Education provides a unique funding opportunity for U.S. students to study in world regions critical to U.S. interests through the David L. Boren National Security Education Program. Applications for undergraduate scholarships are due February 12, 2008.
