  • ISU Theatre announces fall season

  • A children's classic, a critically acclaimed new play and the story of Scrooge will comprise the 2005 fall theatre schedule at Iowa State University
    .
ISU Theatre will present "James and the Giant Peach" in early October, followed by performances of Craig Wright's new play "Pavilion" before "A Christmas Carol" concludes the fall season in December.

The 2005 fall ISU Theatre season includes:

James and the Giant Peach - A magical peach! An imprisoned boy! Insect friends! An incredible journey! By the time the play is over, much is revealed - the wickedness of some, the goodness of others, and the indecision of many when faced with crisis. This amazing adventure of James Henry Trotter, a boy who dreams of escape from his life and his fearsome aunts is based on the famous children's book written by Roald Dahl. Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 7 & 8 - 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 2 & 9 - 2 p.m.

The Pavilion - Peter returns to his 20-year high school reunion with dreams of winning back Kari, the girl he left. However, Kari is still resentful and Peter hasn't grown up. As the night progresses, both Peter and Kari face the consequences of choices made long ago. This new play has been called by critics "an Our Town for our time." Nov. 4, 5, 11 & 12 - 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 6 & 13 - 2 p.m.

A Christmas Carol - It's Christmas Eve and the hardhearted miser, Ebenezer Scrooge is sharing his views on work and money with his nephew and an employee, Bob Cratchit. Later that night, Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future all of whom try to bring him to redemption. This well-loved Dickens story adapted by Jane Cox continues to be a holiday favorite for the entire family. Dec. 1, 2, 3, 9 & 10 - 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 4 & 11 - 2 p.m.

Tickets for each show are $13 for adults, $12 for seniors and $7 for students and children.

Each production will be held in the Fisher Theater on campus.

All ISU Theatre tickets are available at the Iowa State Center Ticket office at 515-294-3347.
