ISU Wind Ensemble embarks on ten-day tour of Europe
- A ten-day tour of Central Europe is awaiting the Iowa State University
Wind Ensemble in early May.
The ensemble, under the direction of Michael Golemo, director of bands,
will travel to the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany May 9-18.
Along the way, the instrumental group will play concerts in Prague (St.
Nicolas Church in Old Town Square), Vienna (Theater Hall at Senioren Residenz
am Kurpark Oberlaa), and Salzburg (St. Martin's Church).
At the Vienna performance, the ISU Wind Ensemble will play in a benefit
concert for the Gottfried von Preyer'schen Children's Hospital. The Salzburg
performance will be part of the Pentecost service during morning mass. Pentecost
Monday (May 16) is a National holiday in Austria.
In addition to stops in Prague, Vienna and Salzburg, the ISU Wind Ensemble
will also visit Dinkelsbuhl, Germany
