Mission Statement

The mission of International Programs within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is to assist Iowa State University in becoming a leading international university through its teaching, research and outreach endeavors.

The LAS Office of International Programs supports the promotion of:

* A liberal education that stimulates students to think globally, and to acknowledge and celebrate human diversity. The LAS College encourages the internationalization of its curriculum through a variety of learning experiences that advance student international awareness and appreciation of cultural differences.

* An international research agenda that inspires multidisciplinary efforts and coordination and supports international collaboration and exchanges of faculty and students.

* A land grant institution that is responsive to the needs of the people of the State of Iowa and to the citizens of the world who depend on the transmission of knowledge to address the practical needs and realities of an increasingly global economy.
