Study Abroad Scholarships


Recognizing the value of studying abroad, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has developed a partial scholarship program to help students defray costs of international travel in conjunction with their program of study. To be eligible for an LAS scholarship, a student must:-Must be at least a sophomore majoring in a discipline in the LAS College;

  • Must have a CGPC of 2.25 in at least 60 credits of study or 2.75 GPA on the last 30 hours of study;
  • Students are eligible to receive scholarships in multiple years;
  • Priority is given to LAS students who will be studying abroad for a semester or more at a university in another country;
  • Strong consideration will given to applications from LAS students participating in study abroad experiences taught by  LAS faculty members;
  • LAS students participating in study abroad programs taught by faculty from other colleges at ISU are also considered;
  • Amount of award depends on fund availability and duration of the international program of study;
  • Submissions dates are:
    • Deadline has passed for Fall 2007 programs
    • November 1, 2007 for Spring 2008 programs (including Spring Break)
    • March 25, 2008 for Summer 2008 & Fall 2008 programs
