- Attendance requirements:
- For organization representatives
- Only one unexcused absence (or two excused absences) is permitted per semester.
- The first LAS Council meeting (August 29, 2007) of the year does not count towards the absences.
- After you exceed the absences for the semester, your organization cannot receive funding for the semester.
- For GSB senators
- The rule is the same as listed in GSB Bylaws – GSB senators may be unexcused from no more than 1/3 of the meetings of the Council.
- If you really can't make it to a meeting
- If you can't make it and you need an excused absence, any of the officers can excuse you
- Organization representatives can have a substitute attend the meeting for them and it won't be counted as an absence
- SORP
- The new Student Organization Recognition Policy is going into effect
- The Council will need to modify the Constitution and Bylaws to remain a registered student organization
- We will need to decide which “tier” of membership we wish to apply for – different tiers come with different privileges with regards to room allocations, vehicle rental, etc.
- There are concerns as to whether the privileges accorded to the faculty advisor and dean conflict with the SORP requirements with regard to student-only voting and student control of student organizations
- Reineke, Turk, and Brady will prepare a presentation on the impact of the SORP for the next meeting
