                        1. LAS Representative Assembly Update
1.Met tonight and in October - The African American Studies program is renamed to African & African Americna Studies Program, part of a national trend, Music department is proposing a new minor in music technology, Presentation by Jean Geisinger from DPS on Threat Management - if you have a friend or know someone who has potential to endanger others, self, etc. there are steps to help that person through DPS - no reporting them, no trouble with police, just steps to help them get help (doesn't go in daily, for example).  This goes through student counseling services & dean of students.  A good idea.  If have questions, president has information about a "violence-free campus".
            2. Treasurer
      1. Didn't get an updated budget, but assume it's the same as last time.  I need applications for funding after the meeting.
            3. GSB
1. GSB sponsoring student tailgate on Saturday - will be giving out free cups and beads, playing games if anyone wants to stop by - in student grass lots.
2. Lots of legislation coming up, will be looking at bylaw changes for Rules Committee and implementing recommendations from SORP Impact Committee - will be voting on those tonight.  No programs planned for this week or next, heard from CyRide last week.

            1.Funding applications - turn in funding applications tonight!
            2. Dean Whiteford - coming to our next meeting, will be ordering pizza & pop - will be getting 10 pizzas  Preference?  Pineapples a must!  Pepperoni, Supreme also requested.  If you have any questions, concerns let us know

1. Political Science is going to be having a panel discussion on gay marriage - the two guys from Iowa who got married will be there.  Will have some speakers who are knowledgeable.  If you want to be on the e-mail list, sign up.  People from LGBTAA will be there, trying to get Judge Hansen - at the earliest would be a week from Thursday, may be 2 weeks after that. 
               2. English Club having movie night tomorrow night at 5 - will have english-related movies like Pride and Prejudice, etc.  Will have pizza.  In Ross 215.

5. New Business
1. Iowa State Leadership Experience (ISLE) Wednesday, January 23: 6-9PM in the MU
1. Send nominees to bljohns1@iastate.edu by Friday, November 16th (nominations are to attend)
2. Aimed more towards freshmen, sophomores - a leadership meeting to help learn to balance student/leadership roles, how to handle budgeting, event planning, etc.
3. They are also looking for presenters - if anyone would like to present on how to plan large-scale events, etc.  E-mail if you want information about that.  Sponsored by SAC, DOR, SALC, & Office of Greek Affairs
2. Does anyone have conflicts with class on Wednesday for next semester - that 5:10 wouldn't work for them?  Will probably keep it at 5:10 PM on Wednedays - don't know meeting schedule yet, but will send it out sometime in January.
